Green Park Christmas Dinner

Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s that time of the year again. We have already seen some snow, the shops in Bath began their Christmas about 6 weeks ago, the lights get switched on this week, the Christmas market starts on the 22nd. If you need to post anything anywhere you probably should have done it by now.

Endless queues and vile Christmas music can be can make the festive season rather tedious after awhile, so at least here is something great to look forward to. This year for the Green Park Resident Christmas Party a large table has been booked at Carluccio’s Italian in Milson Place on Sunday the 16th of December at 7-7.30pm. We had dinner there few weeks ago and found the food to be good, the service excellent and most importantly a nice laid back atmosphere.

The menu has an Italian twist to it (not surprising!), which ought to make a refreshing change from traditional. You have a choice between:

  • 3 course meal for £22
  • 3 courses with prosecco and crackers for £27 and
  • 4 courses for £32.

We will be in touch later about menus choices etc, so for now please have a look on the website or call in to find out what’s on offer.

Hope as many of you as possible can make it, it should be a good night. Please let us know by leaving a comment after this post, or emailing gordon@penbryn.com
We hope to see you on the night!

Green Park Residents Summer Party

The annual summer party has always been a popular event with residents, so there is every reason to do it again this year! In recent years it has been held rather too late in the year, which has meant a rather chilly afternoon. This year we have decided on a provisional date of Sunday the 9th of September from 1pm onwards. Hopefully most of you will be back from holidays and will be able to join in. It will be similar to last time in the garden owned by Michael Clarkson at No. 20 Green Park. We are planning to supply some of the food and drink, but please feel free to bring extra of either/both, it always will be very welcome!

Minutes of the AGM 28th August 2011

Aside

Present: John & Pam Burgoyne, Owen & Jana Bailey, Gordon & Liz Hughes, Ken & Liz Littlewood

Apologies: Gillie Fisher, Chris & Wendy Hyde

1. 2010 Accounts

The 2010 Accounts had been prepared by Chris Hyde, circulated by Gordon Hughes, and were approved by the meeting. A surplus of £15 was shown for the year and a cash balance at the year-end of £798. It was noted that subscriptions totalling £50 were paid to Fobra and the Bath Preservation Society, and that a contribution from the reserves to the 2011 Garden Party had been agreed.

18 of the 21 houses on the street had paid subscriptions in 2010. As the main expenditure was on floral baskets (from which the whole street benefitted) it was agreed that a further attempt would be made to encourage the remaining 3 houses to contribute. Action Gordon Hughes

2. New Website

Liz Hughes was thanked for her work in producing this attractive website for the Green Park Residents. Expenditure (around £15) to create an appropriate domain name was approved. Action Liz Hughes

3. Residents & Owners
Those present would consider how the list of names of both residents and owners of Green Park properties could be kept up to date. Ideally we should seek to have e-mail contact information for both groups. Action Ken Littlewood

4. Future Events
The Residents Association did not have an established committee and had not met as a group since David Clark’s departure as Chairman. Ideally a structure should be put in place to organise the occasional social event, and to co-ordinate our response on any issues of importance to owners and residents. It was agreed that a small group would meet later in the year to agree a suitable way forward.
In the meantime it was agreed that a Christmas meal would be organised at the Green Park Brasserie in December to which all residents would be invited. Action Gordon & Liz Hughes
